The Wicker Man![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "The 'Citizen Kane' of horror films." - Cinefantastique "Witty & scary! No one who sits through it to the end is likely to find it easy to shake off." - Los Angeles Times This movie has some great scenes such as the "Chop Chop" game where participants line up and each one (donning a mask) puts there head in the middle of a Star of David shaped configuration of swords and when the people stop saying "CHOP!!!" your head gets cut off. Not everyone gets their head cut off, but never-the-less it's still a great scene. Originally produced in 1973 and re-released in 2001, this is a great addition to any horror flick movie buff's collection. The case describes The Wicker Man as follows: When a young girl mysteriously disappears, Police Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward of THE EQUALIZER) travels to a remote Scottish island to investigate. But this pastoral community, led by the strange Lord Summerisle (a brilliant performance by the legendary Christopher Lee), is not what it seems as the devout Christian detective soon uncovers a secret society of wanton lust and pagan blasphemy. Can Howie now stop the cult's ultimate sacrifice before he himself comes face-to-face with the horror of THE WICKER MAN? Britt Ekland, Diane Cilento and Ingrid Pitt co-star in this provocative shocker written by Anthony Shaffer (SLEUTH, FRENZY) that fans and critics worldwide still consider a true cult classic and a modern horror masterpiece. Some dragging of the plot and poor video quality earns this movie it's three star rating. Rated: Not Rated Running Time: 99 MIN Back To The List |
